Gyotaku Fish Print Bag- Bluegill
Gyotaku is a Japanese technique for printing fish. In the late 1800’s, Japanese fishermen would take a fish from the days catch, ink the fish to make a print, and hang it up at the market as an advertisement of their day’s catch. Now it is considered an art form. This is a Bluegill that we caught in Michigan. It’s printed on a canvas bag that measures 9.5×14-inches. The fish measures 10-inches.
